Pastor David Morgan

Thomas

David E. Morgan is a Pillar in his home, church, and community.  Involved in many outreach ministries, while simultaneously keeping the city of Kansas City spiritually covered as he supervise and manage the water system many of us use daily.  Pastor Dj, or just simply “DJ” as he is affectionately known by many, is one of our “lost boys” who were blessed with intuit knowledge that compassed him back to God.  Dj was raised in the church under the leadership of dynamic women who taught the word of God unadulterated in an absolute manner.  His mother Leta Melton, an extraordinary leader in the Body of Christ taught Dj how to cultivate the word of God and make it practical for his natural life.  All of the early childhood “spiritual” development opened Dj’s thought processes to not only receive the word of God, but to understand it in a way that makes it effortless for him to deliver the word of God on a grassroots level.

Dj was especially indoctrinated and mentored by his Grandparents Pastor L.C. Thomas and Evangelist Ollie Thomas.  In 1995 before transitioning to glory Pastor Thomas spoke prophetically over Dj’s life.  Unbeknownst to Dj, he would one day become the Pastor of his grandfather’s church, House of Prayer.  With both inspiration and request, it would change Dj’s life forever.  The inspiration would soon metamorphose that “lost boy” into a great man of God, and the request to strongly and lovingly take care of Pastor Thomas home; blood alone couldn’t have made either affirmation more purposed, destined, and truth for what would save Dj’s life from the hard core Kansas City streets.  Once the generational curse was broken over his life, Dj never looked back, and has been doing the work of Christ since 1999.

Dj was ordained as a minister and became the youth pastor at House of Prayer in 2000.  Spiritually adopting many children over the course of 18 years, Dj became affectionately known as “Uncle Dj” while becoming “Bro Dj” to so many others.  Dj became the Assistant Pastor of House of Prayer in 2010 and the Pastor in 2015.  God began to cultivate a new vision within House of Prayer that would change the trajectory of the church into a path of community outreach.  This vision takes the church beyond the four walls for an up-close and personal experience with others in the community, while bringing forth the bread of life.  Also a lead actor/singer, minister, brother, friend, and board member of the CEW production company since 2009.  Dj enjoys writing songs and performing melodically at weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and other events.  Dj extends himself to Gospel Stage plays as another outlet to use his gifts and talents.  An honorable man after God’s own heart, meet David Eugene Morgan Jr.; husband of Shanti, and father of Demico, Sierra, Davion, Mylah, Da’Yahna, Caleb, and Christian.
