Dr. Smith currently serves as a middle school administrator, real estate agent, and loan signing agent. Born and raised in the church, Dr. Smith finds value in serving God by working in the church. He works closely with his pastor and all other working ministries in the church. Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife Tina, son Ryan Jr., bonus daughters Marekica and Danekica, and the five granddaughters.
Dr. Smith started his working career as a school bus driver and custodian and has worked his way to his current position as an administrator. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership Management from Friend’s University, a master’s degree in Business Education from Rockhurst University, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration from William Woods University. As of 2020, he successfully defended his dissertation, ” Gender-Based Learning And The Effect Of Perception As It Relates To Discipline At The Secondary Level,” receiving his doctorate in Educational Leadership from William Woods University.
Dr. Smith has never claimed to be the best singer, but being raised by his father, the late Gerald Smith, (recording artist, singer, songwriter, choir director, and musician) and mother, Hattie Smith, (choir director, songwriter, and singer), music has always been a part of his upbringing. However, he enjoys singing and sometimes acting as time permits in his spare time.
Finally, he serves as the Director of Education for his local chapter, Alpha Delta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and an I.B. Blackburn Masonic Lodge officer. Even with all of the accomplishments, nothing compares to being a father and a loving husband.
