Meshia Powell was born in Port Arthur, TX and was raised in Liberal, KS. She was first introduced to dance at the age of 10 years old to supplement her gymnastics. After discovering that element of dance was infused into gymnastic routines, she knew instantly that she wanted to learn more about dance. She continued taking gymnastic but also began her formal dance training at Dance Images Company and continued her training throughout high school. Her disciplines included jazz, tap and ballet. Later on in life, she was presented with the opportunity to dance with Victory In Motion Contemporary Dance Company under the leadership of Christopher J. Peacock. Meshia uses her gift of dance as a form of worship and actively participates in the praise dance ministry at Macedonia Baptist Church.
